Content Summary: Good wishes and blessings. Sir William would have been very pleased and she well remembers the delight Irving's note gave them when Sir William's services to Surrey were recognised. They went to see Irving in 'Louis XI' just before the production of 'Faust' when Irving first addressed him as knight. Is Irving really Sir John Brodribb? To them he is always ce "cher" - that old pet name for Irving in the Hardman's private circle.
