Suggestions for a scheme to provide financial support for [Sims?] Reeves. He does not belong to the Royal Society of Musicians and they only give £5 in case of distress. A benefit concert would be comparatively easy - also Civic [Civil] List and Charterhouse. Reeves has not made any direct appeal. Sullivan likes to lead, otherwise expect no work from him. Mackenzie would follow him. W.H. Cummings would support a good cause. Mackenzie would come to town if necessary. He is at work in Malvern and enjoying it. |

[Sir William] Weldon has claimed the passing of Irving's arms, not the "passing of Arthur". He is not sure of his right, but since he changed Irving's name he had better do the whole thing. He has asked Weldon to keep his design of the 4 swans. He wishes Irving good luck in America and a pleasant voyage. |
