Notes: Probably written after Irving's return from America in 1896. Stevens had appeared in the Lyceum pantomime in 1895/96, but Irving decided to stay in London and present 'Richard III' in December 1896 and 'Red Riding Hood' was performed at the Novelty Theatre instead.

Notes: Irving was in Edinburgh 20-26 June and the surviving letters, dated 30th July, are in his hand, so Stoker's presumably did not reach him. Remaining letters to William Carey, Seth Low, Horace Porter and an unnamed friend were presumably not presented by Frederick Lockwood.
