He has read Irving's excellent pamphlet and asks him to accept the accompanying volume 'Current Con', which on p.297-308 has allusions to the stage with which he thinks Irving will agree. On Sunday 28th April he is preaching at his church, St James, Westmoreland St, St Marylebone, on the stage and Shakespeare, with special reference to the Stratford-upon-Avon Memorial. Has Irving any book or pamphlet he could borrow on Shakespeare or stage history? He would be glad to call for a short talk. |

Will he accept this as a remembrance of a pleasing association of his safe return after his few days' rest, notwithstanding the accident to the boat nearing the shore. Over night her mind had been going over the scenic effects and details of the Lyceum Shakespeare productions and Louis XI which she has not seen but can imagine through the detailed sound and the power of the imagination which created it. All is pictured in her mind's eye. |
