She is taking a young friend to Book 3d so might be out if Irving calls. She asks him to consider the precise way he transfers the previous night's proceeds to the wretched Stratford thing. She looked round his immense and very peculiar audience with satisfaction. She does not know the amount, but thinks it should not be paid without some special notice and for a special part of the Stratford concern. Irving has a battle to fight not unlike his Macbeth, and should lose no advantage, and his contribution to the Fund should not be bundled up and hidden. She is interested in the Great Bills!! and is glad Irving is coming on Friday. |

She did not mean to send teaching(?) notes but that evening was the Bishop's birthday and if Irving did bring him some little present it would so please him. He appreciates Irving. She longs to talk over the previous night quietly and tell Irving of her party. (Postscript) She thought of getting the Bishop one of the Horse Shoes they put in Halls, or a small Horse Shoe Clock for travelling. |
