With envelope addressed in Irving's hand. On the back of the letter is a long ink note about the occasion by Brereton. They dined at the Queen's Hotel, and while returning Irving related youthful acting attempts with Plumridge and Hart when he was a boy in the City Office. |

Content Summary: |
Please send him as pleasant an excuse as he can for the Lord Lieutenant, that engagements prevent him accepting kind invitation. He sends the George Lewis £10/10/- (on account), 24th July in answer to summons to appear the next day which Lewis said they cheerfully accepted. Stoker's will be returned. Loveday had engaged a Mr Tonge in place of Davis who was not returning. They may now have two instead of one? Loveday is at Hotel des Truittes, Wenduine(?) -sur-Mer, Belgium. Stoker will be glad to get to Port Erroll. Irving already feels the benefit of that coast. Love to both. (Postscript:) He sees Stoker's cheque was sent to Jenkinson(?) - they probably got his through Lewis on 25th July. |
