Content Summary: She comments on the new shipmates... Irving knows life on board does not admit of much vanity. She was glad Irving was pleased with his first rehearsal and well. She has asked Sydney Hodges to join the ship to make sketches. She details the planned cruise. She will probably be there for the first night of 'The Iron Chest' and would like to hear how it is acting... The lovely delicate bouquet had arrived. The Admiral and Willard have invented some glass display object.... They are in a fog off Guernsey. They read his first reading(?) the day before and she thinks the climax might be brushed up, but it is fresh, simple and straighforward.

Notes: 'The Iron Chest' opened on 27th September but the Baroness was still abroad. Admiral & Mrs Gordon were among the passengers and Willard was a servant of the Baroness. The reading is unidentified. Not in the Theatre Museum sequence.

Content Summary: Thanks Lacy for his thoughtful letter. The box shall be sent to him with much pleasure and Irving will be grateful for half an hour of Lacy's time when convenient. Apropos of Lacy's time he has a friendly proposal to make which he is sure Lacy will accept in the spirit in which it is made when they meet. On Friday at 11.30 they go right through the play and if Lacy could be present his suggestions would be an inestimable value.
