Notes: Incomplete and without signature. The Baroness's brother Sir Robert Burdett died on 5th June. Her engagement to William Ashmead Bartlett became known on 4th July. The letter might imply Irving lent his flat. The 18th September was to be the first night of 'The Corsican Brothers'.

Content Summary: Delighted to hear Saturday went well. Tried to secure places but failed. What is happening about 'Coriolanus'? Drawings will be finished by beginning of September. Has worked himself 'blunt and blind' on them and has a small picture to finish. Architect is making drawings of scenes and is making perspective outlines of columns and buildings from Tadema's sketches. He is busy for 4 to 6 months at £5 a week so Irving is not neglected altogether.
