Mrs Brown asked her to thank Irving for the Shakespeare flowers, perhaps gathered by Richard in Sha's garden. He has given her all S's flowers already. She will read Irving's letter to Mrs Brown. Irving's gifts have been valuable in helping Mrs Brown through her pain. After they had taken him to the railway on Saturday she stayed at home to see the doctor. She talks of Mrs Brown's dog, Mr St John and other friends.

He does not intend to send his sons to school until they are eight when he will select a school which Mrs Irving cannot possibly object to. Irving will pay the cost of his sons' education. He declines an increased allowance but will pay for the governess from 1st January last. The cost to be agreed re qualifications. Irving declines to recognise arrears. He will require the society of his children at certain times.
