Recipient: Archer, William >>
Address: -
Date: [1900?], [Dec.], [2]
Document Type: Letter (2 p.)
Content Summary: He agrees with Archer that his pamphlet the 'F T' was a wholesome cheque (sic) to the fulsome adulation people lavished on him more than 20 years before. Archer must have been a young man when he wrote the sketch - with promise twice fully justified. There is another admirable sketch by Archer: Mr Irving & his work. Why not publish the two together as an excellent demonstration of Archer's work.
Published: -
Notes: 'The Fashionable Tragedian' by William Archer and Robert Lowe, critical of Irving, was published in 1877, when it caused him pain, and 'Henry Irving, actor and manager' was first published in 1883. A draft, dated in another hand, probably by Bram Stoker.

Content Summary: Doctors say can cure himself absolutely if removes cause - but cause will never be removed under present conditions of work - & unless he gets into high & dry climate where mucous membrane of nose & throat will heal & dry - & return to normal. Persistence would lead to permanent & dangerous bronchitis when reasonable caution would effect complete cure.
