Content Summary: She reminds Irving of her dead husband, who is in the DNB and was a notable dramatist who wrote plays to order for actors. The accompanying play was written for Mr Wallack who died before it was ready. Her husband would not offer it to anyone else, as none could do justice to Frederick. She is not of the theatrical world but does not want the play to be lost. She would like any profit to go to the Actor's Benevolent Society. She would like Irving to produce it, but if not, could he find a home for it? She asks this to keep her husband's memory green.

Notes: The play 'Frederick the Great' is not listed by Nicoll. William Bayle Bernard died in 1875. The Actors' Benevolent Fund was founded in 1882. See also Letters 351-53.
