Content Summary: The last Sunday he called to see her and was sorry to hear she was still confined to her room. He thinks he may have a congenial proposal for 'The Corsican Brothers'. He has beautiful scenery nearly painted and that season, should all go well could do a version of the play (which was astonishingly a failure when last done at the Princess's), which he thinks would suit the Lyceum well. He would like to use her version. He would probably use it for 2 months, and if she were willing, what would be her terms? Her other editions of her plays are of more serious consideration. He would like to talk to her about them.

She is willing to let him have the promptbook of 'The Corsican Brothers' and the sketches for scenery bound in it, with the Music score and exclusive rights to revive the play for two months for the sum of £40 paid on receipt of the books which are to be returned to her after the time. With regard to the other play she will hope to talk to Irving in warmer weather when she can come down to the drawing room.

Content Summary: He hopes she will recover speedily and that he will see her soon. He thanks her for her reply and encloses a cheque for £40 for rights in 'The Corsican Brothers' for two months. He intends to do it the next June & July. If he wishes to prolong it can he do so for six guineas a week? This seems fair. Everything she lends him will be carefully preserved for her.
