| Content Summary: |
Since he has written so little on the theatre he has not asked for free seats, but would like to see 'The Lady of Lyons' on either Thursday or Friday. He was ill and confined to home all winter when Irving began management or would have told him how much he expected, and how much Irving can already be congratulated. This is not mere formality. |

He'll do his best for what Scott wishes and hope to talk with him soon as to the sort of thing. He wishes him, and old Toole, now and then at the theatre - he will be very glad to see him, as he knows - though just now Scott must be encumbered with work. |

| Content Summary: |
Has been very ill and unable to write. Captain Armsbury gave him Irving's letter. He is tied every night by the 'Mercury' for articles for plays. If Irving would like a rival notice, send a stall to the 'Globe' and Deane of the Arundel will write. Apologises for not doing justice to the interesting series of performances but glad Irving was able to get a paragraph for advertisement from his notice of 'The Lady of Lyons' in the 'Morning Post'. He will do his best in the 'M.P' and 'Globe' but would rather see Irving in a bigger line of parts. |
