He and Stoker had both forgotten that 'Eugene Aram' , not 'The Bells' was to be played the next day. 'The Observer' has a long feature on 'The Bells'. (Postscript:) Someone should see that the adverts in the dailies are correct - since they two were the only numbskulls making the mistake.
