They have met, but to remind him she sends photograph. She is known to be connected to literature and also has worked as Reader and Entertainer. She would like half an hour's conversation as she has dramatic talent and would like to seek a stage career especially in Shakespearean parts - her voice and figure are suited for the heavy lead. She does not want to risk her reputation as a novelist and would only act with a man of standing like Irving. She had refused an offer to tour in the provinces, but the fact that her compère George Grossmith and Helen Barry have succeeded without experience and her amateur success suggest she asks an interview with Irving. |

Mr Pym sent Irving his card to use to go into St Paul's but Mr Sinclair can take all the party in together as meeting might be difficult. She asks Irving to be there at 6.15 the next day (Sunday) or they will call if he is not there by 20 past. If he prefers to go alone with Mr Pym's card let her know, and they will look out for him after the service to bring him back in the carriage. Wrap up well. If his cold is not better the visit can be deferred. |

A troubled unaddressed note announcing the death the day before of her former partner (in Coutts & Co., Edward Marjoribanks junior) about whom Irving had been worried 18 months previously. She reflects on the past and an aim recorded in an old pocket book, which Irving might do, if he still possessed his book. |

Unsigned. She refers to Irving as "a certain B - B (Brave Boy)". Edward Marjoribanks, who died on 12th April had lost money due to unwise speculation, and had had to resign his directorship of the Bank. This may have been sent with Letter 805. |

He thinks Irving might like to read the enclosed from Lord Rosslyn whose remarks on Irving's acting and production were beyond what is gentlemanlike and refined. Mr Wills will call on Irving either at 15/G[rafton St] or the Lyceum with his good idea for Irving's donation to Stratford. (Postscript) She sends some early produce from H[olly] L[odge] which she hopes Irving will eat as Saturn did children!! |
