| Content Summary: |
Sketch of head from Tintoretto from the Ducal Palace in Venice as likeness of Irving, on cream paper. He has booked the next Tuesday, 29th, at the Garrick. He lists his work - he has never seen Irving's Shylock and wants to write a bit if he can come the next Monday - any seat will do. With two more sketches on green paper, one a fat faced man, one a skull with a quotation. He has made a mess of the date - this Thursday is 24th and he has written to 98 people as if 23rd. He would now like to see Shylock on Tuesday. |

He is established there and has given up his London studio. When Irving prints 'Rienzi' will he send the slips there as there are some important corrections and he will write in the lines for Francisca in the church. He would like to have Irving's views on the terms at once. He understood from Irving in the cab on the day he read the play that Irving would buy it from him. He cannot come to London because of his creditors. He gave up all his time to 'Rienzi' in hope of a full release. |
