He sends the complete acts which Irving's copyist can copy into the act he has. Feeling the difficulty of removing the grand set in Act 1 of German town and Cathedral with streets, when followed by set of Marguerite's room he has sent a tavern scene on approval - if adopted by Irving he must write a few lines at end of first scene to connect it. He thinks he has done a good job and there has never been a difficulty about terms as Irving has been most liberal. Wills would like to hear from him on the subject. He expects a great treat on Wednesday. |

| Notes: |
'Faust' in compostion. The Wednesday treat may be the first night of 'Much Ado About Nothing' on 11th October 1882, but might possibly be 'Romeo and Juliet' on 8th March. |

Irving usually sends him ticket for first nights. If intended for next day could he propose that his daughter Mrs Pointon who writes for 'Daily News' & 'Pall Mall Gazette' and wishes to write an article on first nights, could have 2 seats instead. Frith can't go anyway as is out of town. |

He sees in the paper that Irving is to produce 'Much Ado About Nothing'. If he sends to the Lyceum could he secure 4 places for the next Friday for himself, his wife and daughters as they are only in town for a few days, to Friday 1st, and then must return to Knebworth. |

Thanks for the Box; it made four people happy. 'Much Ado' is one of the most complete and beautiful things he has ever seen. The colouring alone is worth several visits. He will come again when his own show is out. |
