He brought her a little remembrance from America which he sends with this. Do not trouble to acknowledge. Her more than generous subscription to the Royal General Theatrical Fund is greatly appreciated - Irving is proud to have it on his list. 'The Daily Chronicle' is doing good work - he will watch with interest the proceedings at the Princes' Hall. He comments on the terrible weather. Poor Yates - he was an old friend and with all his faults a staunch friend. God bless her.

He has secured her two stalls in the front row which he hopes she will be able to use. He would like her to be there.

These "star" performances are interesting, with a variety of actors, though perhaps not always as artistic as with a single company. It will serve the aim of the Actors' Association and raise nearly £1000. If she has any acquaintances who would like to come to 'Dante' in the next 10 days he would be glad to send them seats. His greetings to Jane who is, he hopes, better.

He was delighted with Irving's Werner the other morning - it showed the actor and manager were more important in making a play vital than the author.
