Content Summary: Some weeks ago Seymour went to Sarony to pose for some new photos; when he had finished he put on the enclosed facial make-up as an experiment. He has tried for 15 years to get as close as possible to Irving in appearance.This is the result - he is very proud of it. Hopes Irving is in good health. His son, named after Irving, is doing well. Hopes to be able to come round after 'Waterloo' and pay his compliments.

Some of Bradford's prominent citizens are invited to lunch at the Town Hall on Wednesday to show their appreciation of Irving's great work. Priestley wishes to assure Irving that all will be done for his comfort and that no strain will be put upon him. Apologies for inviting friends before communication with Irving but time was short.

Notes: Irving attended the luncheon on Wed 11th October 1905, two days before his death. Though short of breath and looking desperately ill he spoke well. His theme was 'The Need for Municipal Theatres'.

Provenzal believes that this is substantially a translation from the Italian of a drama entitled 'Camma' written by the late Professor Guiseppe Montanelle; Provenzal holds the copyright. Some time since he prevented Ristori from playing without his consent. He is not desirous of taking legal action but must insist on his rights as owner of the copyright. Open to any reasonable arrangments.

Content Summary: Mr Irving desires him to express regret that Provenzal has been so curiously misinformed with regards to 'The Cup' and his asserted rights therein. The play is the work of 'our poet Tennyson' and has nothing in common with that of Signor Montanelli (sic) except that the story of both plays is taken from Plutarch - a source where Shakespeare drew certain of his plots.
