Notes: Irving had recommended Russell for a post as manager. A further letter from Bancroft on 29th April states that they had decided to replace Walter by a Secretary and a Treasurer, offering the former post to Mr Bashford, Mrs Bancroft's brother-in-law, non-acting manager at the Olympic. He doubts Russell will be interested in the lesser role, which would not be promotion.
