Recipient: Stoker, Bram (Abraham)
Address: 20 Bedford St, Covent Garden, London, W.C.
Date: [1905], March, 6
Document Type: Letter (4 p.)
Content Summary: It would be well to have the private presentation recorded in D.T. [Daily Telegraph] or by Press Ass[ociation]. Enclosed 'post' cutting size would be enough. Stoker will be at another ceremony at Bow Street or he would ask him to come down - perhaps Loveday will be back. The Mayor & Town Clerk are coming there on Wednesday and Irving gives his proposed reply, thanking them for the address and hoping it establishes a precedent for future actors who have deserved the honour through public service. He has a copy if it would be useful. Harry came the day before and has just gone back. If all goes well he leaves there on Monday for Clifton first.

Notes: Irving was taken ill at Wolverhampton on his final tour; where he was to have received a public address. The envelope is postmarked MR 6. Stoker's appearance at Bow Street - possibly the Magistrates' Court or Police Station has not been identified. He seems to have been making an application. Harry is Irving's son, H.B. Irving.
