It will serve the aim of the Actors' Association and raise nearly £1000. If she has any acquaintances who would like to come to 'Dante' in the next 10 days he would be glad to send them seats. His greetings to Jane who is, he hopes, better.

However he feels keenly that Mr Merivale has made grave charges to the Committee about his honesty as a playwright. He wishes to meet these charges and hopes Irving will not misinterpret the letter and feel used, but he wishes to convince the Committee that he is not a pickpocket.
