Content Summary: Will Irving help them raise a memorial to Wilkie Collins? Bancroft will tell Irving about it as he has subscribed as well as Pinero. No other English novelist was more in touch with the Drama than his dead friend nor one whose books had such a dramatic point of view. Quilter thinks that 'Hunted Down' was partially written by Collins although attributed wholly to Dickens. Asks whether it wasn't the first piece Irving played in London. He hopes Irving will help though perhaps a request from Quilter may prejudice the request.
