Pleased to receive Irving's letter of 22nd. (Jan.?) Disappointed he does not remember her. Gives details of her coming to Lyceum to see Mrs Bateman but seeing Irving instead. She recited first scene of 'Hamlet' and sang. Irving showed her costumes and asked for her address which she would not give as she came without permission. Since she has met him in Regent Street and Oxford Street and spoken and after 'Macbeth' Irving walked her to Marble Arch! |
