Content Summary: Irving's letter crossed with his first despatch. The second is now ready and he will send it once seen by Sardou. Is Irving going to order models in Paris which he could supervise? He wishes he could write in English as well as Irving does in French. (Postscript:) He has sent his drawings to Comyns Carr at the Garrick Club because Irving has told him Carr will translate the explanations.

Write to Laurence about Miss Quested as he is looking after the engagements for Irving. He has not had a prospectus so Brereton had better write to Carr at Lyceum Theatre. Good wishes - he hopes Brereton has a good doctor.

Notes: With postmarked envelope. Work on 'Robespierre' which was to open at the Lyceum in April. Miss Quested is not listed among the cast. Joseph Comyns Carr was running the new Lyceum Theatre Company.

Content Summary: Disappointed that Irving cannot attend graduation ceremony on 18th April to receive degree but his reasons are perfectly valid. Date cannot be changed and degrees not awarded in absentia. Story offers 20th July (generally only medical degrees conferred then) or beginning of November (date not yet known). Could go to April 1900 but preference is to receive degree in conferral year.
