Content Summary: Sir Henry Irving called the day before and inspected and approved the Album, to perfect which he had devoted months. Stoker had suggested he made a description which he sends in the form of an account. He has not charged for the clerical work although it was difficullt to collect 5 or 6 thousand signatures from scattered and roving persons who do not follow the regulations. (Postscript:) He has not increased the charge although the labour was greater after discussion with Stoker partly as the work will bring him credit. He lists 4 people who have sent him 2 guineas which must be deducted when Stoker sends payment.
Published: -
Notes: An illuminated album from the theatres for Edward VII was being prepared, similar to the Jubilee Address sent to Queen Victoria. On this occasion the arrangements were left to the binder, presumably because of the new arrangements for the Lyceum Company. Those paying Zaehnsdorf were W.R. Sprague, Ellis Jones, Queen's Theatre, Dublin, John Geffrey, Shakespeare Theatre, Liverpool and Mrs [Charles] Dornton, Theatre Royal, Birmingham. The bill with full description of the volume dated this day came to £375. The account was not paid at this stage and the bill only finally settled in 1905. See Letters 8975-76.
