Date: [1902], Sept., 3 Wednesday
Document Type: Letter (6 p.)
Content Summary: He will be back in London the next day and will not leave until they go on tour except for a day or two with Toole and Matilda [Levy]. (Campbell Clarke died at her country house.) He has plenty to do. Stoker is in Kilmarnock - Cruden Bay Aberdeenshire and Loveday in Bexhill on Sea, Hotel Metropole. He thinks one of his letters has miscarried where he told her Laurence had taken 'Dante' straight from Paris to America so that Irving did not see it. He is as anxious to see it as she. In about 10 days they will all be back and learn something from Laurence. Rehearsals may be at one of Frohmann's theatres not the Lyceum - Loveday is supposed to be arranging that. There is much to do and he is returning early to get things in hand. About Laurence - he had said if Ellen Terry could suggest anyone for Bassanio there would be no problem in his resuming Antonio. He had a letter from Mrs Phillipps whom she had suggested should write but he has nothing for her. He hopes to see Ellen Terry at the end of the next week when there will be a lot to say. With love.

Notes: Signed X. Ellen Terry notes on the letter "3 Sep. read it 5th at Monnetier(?)". Irving repeats some themes from Letters 8219-20. Mrs Phillipps may be Kate Phillips, formerly a member of the Lyceum Company.
