Content Summary: She lists the gentry who drank Irving's health, and have all gone - Mr Bartlett leaving early. She discusses that night's performance of 'Hamlet' in Irving's absence in some detail - all the subordinates did their best and his substitute was unaffected. She appreciated details of the production more than at the first performance, and thanks Irving for the attention to their comfort. His death has left a blank in their home where he was loved. When she last saw him Irving talked of being with Mr Wallack. His views may have changed since he has a theatre of his own, but Mr Wallack has told her to say that he would be delighted to have him. The theatre holds £200 and has held more. They can make things pleasant for Irving if he comes. She hopes he has succeeded beyond his expectations. (Postscript:) Mr Wallack reopens his theatre in September and hopes to hear from Irving.
